The Cone of Shame

Poor Kelsey and Kozmo. They were fixed in October. They weren't too thrilled about it and neither were we. Boy these cones were sooooo annoying. My poor babies.

Fabulous Fort Lauderdale !

I love visiting my parents in Florida. It is one of my favorite vacation spots. I always feel at home and there are so many beautiful things to photograph. My dad and I took a little walk near his home and these are some of my photos of the plant-life there.

Its Been Way Too Long......

I haven't blogged in months. I really missed it so glad to be back. There has been a lot going on in our little lives. I have an eighth grade graduate (Way to go Zack), Jake has three summer jobs (Wow), Becca is in eighth grade but has joined the High School Marching Band, she plays the piccolo (Go Becca). Cooper is going to repeat Kindergarten but that was expected, he is a very young five year old. Ed is working hard, lots of summer side work and I have two new puppies to raise. Kelsey and Kozmo are English Springer Spaniels. Thanks Cammy for your advice. We love our two new babies. It is already a very busy summer.

On a very sad note, we lost our fifteen year old dog, Zeus on May 15,2009 and we were so sad. The vet had to come to the house to help us and put him down, it was awful,we miss you Big Guy!!!! Wish you could be here to romp with the puppies :(

Back to Work

Tomorrow "The Loft" opens its doors after being closed for the month of January. A yearly break that my boss takes. I have gotten a litte lazy in the mornings since I don't have to be out the door. I am looking forward to talking to other adults again though. So its off to bake scones and serve the most delicious gourmet coffees in the AM. My sewing machine is fixed and I am going to the library to get some books on fabric shades and slipcovers. Wish me luck.(is there anybody out there?)

My Bedding Addiction!

Well, my sewing machine is being repaired so........... I can't start my slipcovering project for a couple of days, such a bummer. But I have gotten to do a few other things like get some new bed linens. I just love switching out linens every once in a while, my hubby doesn't apppreciate this little hobby as much as I do. In these winter months when I am sooo bored what else is there to do?? New floral sheets and a taupe quilt, LOVE ! I also got 3 fabulous down filled Euro style pillows and shams all at Marshalls, I could go there everyday and never leave empty handed. Don't worry Eddie, I won't.

Dining Room Makeover (Before)

Well, the holidays are finally over and our house is back to normal. My New Years Resolution is "to be more consistent" so I have been exercising each morning after the kids go to school and I made a list of chores for myself. I have started cleaning out closets and other odd assorted chores. The Loft is closed (where I work) this whole month and the weather is terrible outside so I have the time to get some things done. I am very close to completing my to do list. Cooper is sick this week, with a tummy virus, so I have been slightly unmotivated to do any major task, but today is the day. Uncle Marvin is coming over to help me repair my six Napoleon Style dining chairs, they are a little rickety, he is going to fix them up so I can finally slipcover them and give my guests a comfy place to sit. Also, Eddie and I are going to Pt. Pleasant to the Antique Shops this weekend and we will try and find some other items to "Shabby" up my dining room. This is a photo of the dining room now,the hutch in the backround will get made-over this spring. I will post a pic after I get it all prettied up.
